The grits are ceramic application materials obtained by the mechanical breakage of frits. An extensive catalogue of references is available to provide ceramic surfaces with the desired aesthetic and technical characteristics. They are prepared in different standardized granulometries depending on the desired ceramic effect and the application method, which can be either dry or wet process.
ESMALTES grits are specially designed to obtain a wide colour development of digital inks and to obtain ceramic surfaces with a high resistance to chemical agents and abrasion.
Within this range of products, we have a wide variety in terms of granulometry and types of produced ceramic effects. Our grits are grouped in the following families:
FAMILY G2
Intermediate granulometry. It allows both dry and wet applications. We have products in a wide range of melting temperature and thus they can be used in porous single-firing, stoneware and porcelain stoneware.
Granulometric range (mm): 0,350-0,118.
TYPES:
– Matts and gloss (transparents and opaques).
– Lusters (silver and gold)
– Reactives
FAMILY G4
Smaller granulometry. These grits allow both dry and wet processes, especially for airless and vela applications. We have a wide variety for different temperature ranges.
Granulometric range (mm): 0.141-0.066
TYPES:
– Matts and gloss (transparents and opaques).
– Lusters (silver and gold)
– Reactives
ULTRA THIN GRITS FAMILY (UF)
The ultra-thin particle size is the characteristic that provides innovative glossy, satiny or matt effects in ceramic floor and wall tiles.
Granulometric range (mm): <0.066
TYPES:
– Matts and gloss (transparents and opaques).
– Lusters (silver and gold)
– Reactives
FULL POLISHED (FP) GRITS
Full Polished (HF) grits are a technical product developed to achieve high gloss finishes on ceramic surfaces subjected to a
mechanical polishing process after firing. Its main characteristics are the transparency, an excellent chromatic development
of the injection inks and the lower internal porosity.
METALLIC GRITS
The metallic grit is a mixture of our G4 grits family that provides a metallic effect to ceramic surfaces. This effect is suitable
for many types of designs such as oxides, plates and natural stones. This product can be used to achieve the full range of
shades of metallic surfaces.
